Mystery solved: Army officer’s son confesses murdering parents, sisters -

RAWALPINDI: Police on Monday solved the mystery surrounding the murder of a retired army officer who was found shot dead along with his wife and two young daughters in Rawalpindi garrison city last week, SAMAA reported. Police claimed that son of the army officer has confessed to killing his father, mother and two sisters over marriage dispute. Bodies of Brig. (retd) Dr. Sikandar Malik, his wife Shahida, two daughters Fatima and Zenab were found in their house located in Rawalpindi’s Gulistan Colony within the remits of Morgah police station. Police had arrested Dr. Sikandar Malik’s son Haider Ali who was present at the house. After week-long investigation, officials claimed that Ali has confessed to killing his family members. The accused revealed that he wanted to have love-marriage but his parents were not allowing him to marry the girl he was in love with, at which he decided to end lives of his parents and two sisters. Ali had drugged fruit juice to his family members. After they fainted, he shot them dead, investigators said. – SAMAA -
