Meet Pakistan’s 'Kejriwal': Creates AAPP after getting miffed with system

Islamabad: Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (Aap) is not only inspiring people in India but abroad as well. Even our neighbour Pakistan seems enthused by the party. Adnan Randhawa is the name of the person who has formed a party on similar lines as AAP in India and coined it Aam Aadmi Party of Pakistan (AAPP). It is the second such party in Pakistan that is based on the same theme as AAP in India. Earlier, social activist from Gujranwala Arslan-ul-Mulk also created a party named Aam Aadmi Party. The anti-corruption movement that is running in India has impressed a lot many people in Pakistan. A year back 60-year old Sufi saint Tahir-ul-Kadri who is also known by the name “Pakistan’s Anna Hazare” led a revolution against corruption after returning back from Canada.
Adnan was serving as an officer in the Pakistan’s Foreign Service earlier. He quit his job after getting miffed with the ruling government which was accused by him along with many others of providing CIA agent Raymond Davis with a safe pass from the country. He believes in fighting corruption in the country through a more systematic way, that's what led him to create AAPP.
