Shocker: Man sets himself on fire during live TV debate, embraces BSP leader

Lucknow: In a shocking incident reported in the city, a man set himself on fire after drenching in petrol during a live TV debate conducted on the Lok Sabha Elections on Monday night, as per an IANS report. The incident occurred in Sultanpur town of Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, a TV debate was ongoing during Doordarshan's 'Janmat 2014' programme, that was being shot at Tikonia Park where leaders from various political parties were invited to speak on the issue, when this young man set himself ablaze and thereafter hugged the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Kamruzzama Fauji. As per police officials, the man who belonged to Mau district of the state suffered 95 percent burns while Mr Fauji received 75 percent burns. Both are currently critical and under intensive medical care in a trauma centre. The police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.
