Anandiben Patel becomes first woman Chief Minister of Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Anandiben Patel took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on Thursday around 1:45 in the afternoon. Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi and other prominent leaders of BJP including LK Advani, MM Joshi, Prakash Singh Badal and Nitin Gadkari attended the swearing-in ceremony of Anadiben as she became the first woman CM of Gujarat state. The Ministries of rest of the ministers of Gujarat will remain the same as it were during the tenure of Modi. The oath taking ceremony was held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. Anandiben Patel, Gujarat’s revenue minister and a close aide of Narendra Modi was on Wednesday chosen the next chief minister of Gujarat. Prime minister-designate Modi resigned as the chief minister of Gujarat and handed over his resignation to the Governor Kamla Beniwal earlier on Wednesday. In an emotional speech, 72-year-old Patel had said, "I will ensure that Gujarat continues on the path of development." Patel is a post graduate in Science and is known for his hard work and efficiency as a BJP leader. She has earlier handled portfolios of road and buildings and revenue management during Modi government in Gujarat.
