CM Omar Abdullah finally receives invitation for Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony

Jammu: The Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah said that Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee has invited him for the swearing-in ceremony to be held on May 26. Omar told reporters "As a CM, I have been sent an invitation card by President. Also, I have received a letter from Narendra Modi regarding invitation." Omar had tweeted on social networking website Twitter that he has not received the invitation for Modi's swearing-in ceremony. He had tweeted "Let me say this here rather than individually to those asking - no, I haven't received THE invitation. Can't consider what hasn't arrived." On being asked if he will attend the ceremony, Abdullah said "If the PM of Pakistan can come all the way from Islamabad then the CM of Jammu & Kashmir should also attend the ceremony as it can turn out to be the start of an important phase for the state." He further said that there might be no time for Modi on Monday during the swearing-in ceremony to exchange words with everyone. He stated "I have no illusions about the fact that any substantive discussions will take place with any of us attending the swearing-in ceremony. There is enough time for the state government to start talking to the people at Centre." He said "Let the Foreign Minister, Defense Minister, Home Minister and other Ministers take charge of their departments and then we will start talks on important issues of Kashmir."
