PM stopped no-trust move against Khattak: MPA

MANSEHRA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has stopped his party lawmakers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from moving a no-confidence motion against the chief minister. “We all (party lawmakers) were in contact with each other and likeminded political parties to move a no-confidence motion against the chief minister but prime minister asked us not to do so or become part of any such move against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government in the province ,” MPA Saleh Mohammad Khan told journalists here on Tuesday. He said that Imran Khan’s statement to dissolve the provincial assembly compelled them to come forward to foil his undemocratic design. He said that they were ready to submit a no-confidence motion in the assembly within a couple of days but the prime minister intervened and stopped them. “We want democratic setup to flourish in the province. We provided an opportunity to PTI to form its government despite the fact that we could form our government with support of coalition partners in the provincial assembly,” said Mr Khan. Says they were ready to submit a motion in provincial assembly He said that the PTI government should show flexibility towards the federal government of PML-N and give it a chance to complete its term. “I am confident that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak is a modest and capable person to run the provincial government but he can’t deliver because of the unjustified interference by Imran Khan,” the MPA said. He said that Azam Swati, the provincial president of PTI, was also a big hurdle in the smooth sailing of the government in the province. “I warn Mr Khattak to be cautious of people like Mr Swati, who is hatching conspiracies against him and creating hurdles for his government in the province,” he said. Mr Khan said that Azadi March was meant to disturb execution of mega projects, being launched by the PML-N government. He said that both Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri should not follow the agenda of those, who wanted to derail democracy in the country. The lawmaker said that prime minister would inaugurate Hassanabdal-Havelian motorway this month that would change the fate of people of Hazara. He said that Rs450 million were sanctioned to improve the existing natural gas pipeline from Abbottabad to Mansehra. COURT: A local court has ordered release of former tehsil president of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, who was arrested for instigating people to attack the property rented to Afghan refugees after an Afghan killed a local driver last month. The Abbottabad circuit bench of Peshawar High Court had already ordered release of Khuram Khan in a case registered against him under Section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order last week. The PTI leader, who allegedly led a mob to block Karakoram Highway after an Afghan refugee stabbed a local driver to death over a minor issue on Abbottabad Road on July 4, was arrested by police on July 16.
