‘Wherever you will go, no one will ever know’: Ironical ad of Malaysian Airlines

Kuala Lumpur: What can be more ironical than this old advertisement of Malaysian Airlines, which says ‘Wherever you will go, no one will ever know’? The question is will we actually never know where the missing flight MH 370 is? After a desperate search for the plane since 10 days, there is still no clue of where the plane is. The tagline in an old advertisement of Malaysian Airlines when they first inducted the 777 seems ironical to the present situation. It reads, ‘Our new Boeing 777 – Lose yourself on a journey of epic proportions, Wherever you will go, no one will ever know’. Meanwhile, in the latest developments, Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein addressed a press conference informing the media that the search operations have been intensified and will be focusing on Central Asia and Indian Ocean. However, India rubbished the speculative reports, saying that no unidentified plane crossed India.
The question that again arises is did MH 370 fly too low to avoid detection. Malaysian official said that the complete search area is 2.24 million sq nautical miles, which they cannot search on their own. Therefore, they said they have requested the countries to come forward to help them. The official, while addressing the media, said, their priority was to find the aircraft. Apart from China and US and India, countries known to be involved include Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Burma, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, France and Australia.
