Panipat: A fourth class student was abducted, raped and then killed in Panipat. The family of the victim protested on GT road demanded that the killers of the child be handed to the public for deliverance of justice. The family alleged that the police’s inaction resulted in child’s death, as the police did not initiate any enquiry into the matter despite a complaint being lodged. The road witnessed a heavy traffic jam for almost forty minutes; the SP came to the protest site and assured of speedy action to the family. The ten-yr-old boy was a student of Sanskriti school, he left home on April 24 morning with another friend to go to school. The victim’s friend reached his house after school but when the victim didn’t return the family was worried and questioned the friend about the boy’s whereabouts. On being questioned he divulged that the boy was lured by an unknown person to a park. The family of the boy informed the police and started hunting for the boy but the police didn’t take the matter seriously. The family looked for the unidentified culprit and nabbed him without police’s aid. The killer was identified as Gulab a resident of Mirzapur. The killer confessed that he raped and killed the boy. The boy’s father is a security guard at a factory; the family had migrated from Uttar Pradesh to Panipat. The SP has promised to take action against the police officials who didn’t initiate the enquiry on time and he further assured government’s aid and compensation. The family alleges that police kept shirking the enquiry and passed on the case to the other police station. On investigating the matter the police found out that Gulab was under the influence of alcohol and took the boy to a park where he sexually assaulted him and then strangled him to death with a rope. The police recovered the boy’s body from the murder site after interrogating Gulab.
