Contempt plea against five politicians

LAHORE: A contempt of court petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his wife Kulsoom Nawaz, son Husain Nawaz, PML-Q chief Shujaat Husain and Humayun Akhtar Khan for refusing to receive court notices in a case questioning their alleged foreign assets. Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafree filed the petition saying these politicians committed contempt of court by not receiving the summons. He said the act of the respondents amounted to creating hurdles in dispensation of justice. He sought proceedings against the respondents under contempt of court law. In the main petition of Barrister Jafree, a LHC single bench had on Tuesday decided to issue a proclamation in newspapers to serve notices on the respondents.
