‘Arrest of over 5,000 culprits satisfactory’

ISLAMABAD: While terming the ongoing Karachi operation successful, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that it was sufficiently satisfactory in achieving targets and the aims of the operation. While talking to ‘The News’ he said that over 5,000 outlaws had been arrested and dozens of suspects were held as a result of investigations during the targeted operation in Karachi. He said that the Karachi operation was being carried out without any political discrimination. He said that any person who committed a crime whether he belonged to any group or political party must be arrested. Chaudhry Nisar said that Karachi is an important hub of the national economy and flushing it out of chaos and anarchy would be a guarantee for the restoration of the economy. He said that federal government was cooperating with the provincial government in order to end violence in Karachi and would continue doing so. Meanwhile, Chaudhry Nisar issued strict directions to Nadra and other subordinate departments, working under Interior Ministry, to submit details of their accounts to the audit officials by Friday. He said that spending of single penny for last five years would not be exempted from audit.
