ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has prepared over 150 references against important personalities. Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry is expected to give final approval to these references tomorrow (Monday). The list of references includes names of many high profile personalities, former ministers and bureaucrats. A private news channel quoting sources reported that NAB officials have finalised the list on the direction of the bureau’s Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry. The list comprises 150 cases of corruption. Some serving bureaucrats have also been included in the list, which will be immediately forwarded to Qamar Zaman Chaudhry. A formal investigation will begin after the approval of the NAB chief. NAB sources said more than 1,000 inquiries and 150 references had been delayed due to delay in the appointment of a new chairman NAB, and investigation teams were waiting for their approval from the chairman NAB. References also include the illegal appointment of Tauqir Sadiq as chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra). After final approval of the references by the NAB chairman, investigation teams will be given the tasks of investigation and arrest.
