Terror bid foiled in Karachi; police seize explosive-laden vehicle

KARACHI: Police have seized an explosion-laden vehicle reportedly prepared for targeting a key political or police figure. According to reports, acting on tip of a federal intelligence agency and the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the Sindh Police recovered the vehicle in Mauripur area with 100 kg explosives. Three suspects identified as Humayun, Saeed Ayub and Umar Farooq alias Faridullah were also arrested from the scene. CID officials claimed Faridullah was an expert in preparing explosive laden vehicles for carrying out terror activities. They said the accused was also involved in the Abbas Town blasts.
