Winter rain fails to dampen spirits of music enthusiasts

Islamabad: It was a great treat for music lovers as they danced and clapped at the ‘Celebrating Relations’ fund-raising concert featuring the Roxen the Band, Sanam Marvi and Qandeel Baloch. The audience from all walks of life thoroughly enjoyed listening to their favourite singers performing live on stage. The captivating performances of famous singers combined with the enthusiasm of Islamabad residents, winter rain and ambiance of Pak-China Friendship Centre made it a night to remember for those who joined the concert. Ranging from ‘sufiana kalaam’ in the melodious voice of Sanam Marvi to famous rock songs of ‘Roxen the Band’ by lead singer Mustafa Zahid, the musical night offered a variety to enjoy and cherish making the weekend colourful as well as purposeful for those who wanted to donate for eradicating blindness from the country. The funds raised from the concert organised by the Milestone Event Management and Al-Hijjab Real Estate and Marketing Consultants will be given to the Pakistan Association of Blinds, Mansehra, an organisation founded by 10 friends with an aim to serve the blind community in all ways possible. Geo Tez was the media partner of the event. Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Jawad Paul and Multi-Professional Housing Society General Manager Chaudhry Abdul Majeed joined the event as chief guests. The concert started with the mesmerising performance by Marvi Memon.Legendry songs like ‘Mast Qalandar’ and ‘Mun Kunto’ by Marvi compelled everyone in the hall to join the beat. Sanam is a renowned ‘sufi’ singer from Hyderabad, Sindh, and hails from a family of ‘sufi’ singers. Trained under Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, Sanam is considered one of the finest performers in ‘sufi’, folk and ‘ghazal’ genres which she proved yet again at the concert. The romanticism of rainy weather in Islamabad was enhanced by the melodic songs by Qandeel Baloch, a rising star in the world of music and performance. The applause received by the singer from the young audience was enough proof of the fact that the music industry has got another star to cherish in the future. The enthusiasm of young audience was at its peak as the VJ’s Madiha Khan and Ather Rizwi announced the arrival of ‘Roxen the Band’ on the stage. A famous band of the country, Roxen is creating waves across the globe with their famous hits like ‘Bhula Daina Mujhay’, ‘Yaadein’, ‘Tu Phir Aao’ and ‘Sapnay’. The band performed with typical tints of pop and shades of rock and brought energy to the environment. A sense of excitement surged as the young singers performed their famous tracks making young enthusiasts clap and dance on their seats.
