10 health precautions you must take this Holi

Don’t go overboard this Holi as fun sometimes may turn into tragedy if not taken care. Play and stay safe this festive season by doing the right things. We bring to you ten precautions by make-up artist Aashmeen Munjaal that you must take to protect your hair and skin from the wrath of artificial colours. Have a look: 1. Steer clear from glitter, paint and metallic colours as they can be very harmful. 2. Oil your hair before you start playing. Coconut oil and olive oil are best to protect your hair from harsh colours. 3. Apply some oil behind your ears, ear lobes and nails as colour tends to settle at these points. 4. Covering your nails with nail polish will keep them safer. 5. Put lip balm or lipstick on your lips. 6. Shut the pores on your face with a toner before you head out. The colour will not be able to go too deep into the skin. 7. Don’t forget to wear waterproof sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. 8. Try to wear clothes that are light in weight and easy to dry. 9. Wear a thick scarf or bandana to cover your hair. 10. Don’t wear lenses. Lenses have a tendency to absorb the colour which may cause damage to your eyes. Wear glasses and keep wiping them clean.
