This asana is an angle pose. ‘Kona’ means elbow, hence the name. This yoga involves a lot of stretching and basically benefits the spine and back. How to perform: 1. Stand with your hands on both sides. 2. Make sure your palms are touching the thighs. 3. Keep your legs at least two to three feet apart. 4. Raise both your hands to the shoulder level. 5. Stretch and keep them parallel to your shoulder. 6. Inhale and bend to your right. 7. Slide the right hand down and raise the left hand straight up. 8. Stretch as much as you can and touch the right ankle with your fingers. 9. The left hand must remain straight without bending the elbow. 10. Bring the left hand down and place it on your waist. 11. Hold this posture for a while. 12. Return to the standing position exhaling and keep your hands stretched out parallel. 13. Do not move you feet. 14. Repeat with alternate hands.
