Nisar, Samiul Haq discuss Taliban ceasefire

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Taliban committee member Maulana Samiul Haq discussed the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) month-long ceasefire announcement. Sources said Chaudhry Nisar assured Maualan Sami that a positive response would be given to the Taliban's announcement. Meanwhile Maulana Sami told the interior minister that the government should benefit from the announcement. Both also agreed for the government and Taliban committees to meet in the next few days. Earlier, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) announced a month-long ceasefire with the Pakistani government. The Taliban’s decision was confirmed by TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid.
