‘Sindh govt didn’t reject Punjab assistance offer’

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has rejected reports about Sindh government having refused to accept Punjab’s offer of assistance in the backdrop of famine-like situation in Tharparkar district. Speaking to media, the minister said that neither the Punjab government extended such an offer nor the Sindh government rejected that. “There is a no question of accepting or rejecting an offer when it was not extended,” he added. He, however, thanked the federal government for extending an offer for help. Memon said that the provincial government was using all the resources to cope with the situation in Tharparkar. Over 100 children have died of malnutrition in Tharparkar district over the few last days.
