SP candidate booked for remarks on Maya-Modi, Ramdev compares Sonia Gandhi with demoness Tadaka

Shamli: Samajwadi Party candidate from Kairana has allegedly made defamatory remarks against Bjp's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Bahujan Samaj Party supremeo Mayawati. Nahid Hasan allegedly made the remarks at a function to mark the opening of his election office in Shamli City. A case under Sec 171 G of the Indian Penal Code has been filed against him. "We observed the video. During elections, one cannot make such comments that he was making. He will be prosecuted according to law," said district magistrate Narendra Singh while talking to the media. According to reports Nahid told SP workers: “Mayawati sat in the lap of Modi thrice, both are unmarried. Mayawati was defeated by my grandfather and even faced my father once. Now if she faces me, you will see.” He also referred to a “mad elephant” and how it would not be allowed to enter Shamli and Kairana — the elephant is the BSP poll symbol. After clippings of his speech, videographed by the electronic media, were aired, the administration moved to take steps. Meanwhile, in Lucknow, Yoga guru Ramdev chipped in too, comparing Congress chief Sonia Gandhi with demoness Tadaka, a violent figure from Ramayana. Ramdev claimed BJP leaders will slay demon rule in the country. "She is not an ordinary bahu (daughter-in-law). She is a foreigner bahu who has looted her entire sasuraal," Ramdev declaimed. On Saturday Congress candidate from Saharanpur Imran Masood was booked for a video in which he threatened to cut Modi to pieces; Hasan was booked after he used a common Hindi metaphor in a highly derogatory manner. He has been sent to 14-days judicial custody.
