Embarrassment for BJP: Shiv Sena leader Kadam spits venom, says Modi will teach lesson to 'Muslim' vandalisers

Mumbai/Kalyan: Facing flak over controversial statements made by leaders close to it, BJP on Monday faced another embarrassment as Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam poured venom against Muslims saying, "Muslims" who vandalised police vehicles, damaged public property and attacked women police personnel during the Azad Maidan riots in August 2011, would be taught a lesson. Reportedly, BJP PM candidate also arrived here to attend the rally. As Modi shared the dais with Kadam, the Shiv Sena leader, while addressing a rally in Kalyan in Marathi, "If 5 lakh Muslims can gather at the Azad Maidan, desecrate memorials, attack policemen and molest policewomen, if people dare to do this in Maharashtra, Narendra Modi, if comes to power will surely teach a lesson to such elements." Earlier, before Modi's arrival at the venue, Kadam also said that Modi would also avenge the attacks on Indian soldiers by Pakistan once he became the Prime Minister. "Within six months of becoming the PM, Modi will take action against those Pakistanis who have beheaded our soldiers. Manmohan Singh and (Maharashtra CM) Prithviraj Chavan are shameless," Kadam said.
While, an embarrassed BJP Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi took to micro-blogging website Twitter to speak about the issue on Tuesday. "Petty statements by those claiming to be BJP’s well-wishers are deviating the campaign from the issues of development and good governance," Modi tweeted, adding, "I disapprove (of) any such irresponsible statements and appeal to those making them to kindly refrain from doing so." “With great happiness, the entire nation is looking towards BJP for going to people solely on the issue of good governance and development,” he stated. Giriraj Singh had said that those opposing Modi should be sent to Pakistan, while Togadia had asked his supporters to forcibly vacate a house purchased by a Muslim in a Hindu-majority area of Bhavnagar.
