Mumbai: 5 drunken naval officers arrested for molesting woman in Khar pub

Mumbai: Five officers from the Indian navy were arrested by the police on charges of physically assaulting and molesting a woman at Khar pub on Saturday night. All of them were in inebriated condition, when they were arrested by the local police. Reportedly, all the five accused chased the woman, who is a banker and hails from Gujarat and her businessman husband, from Khar (West) to Borivili in two autorickshaws, after getting drunk. As per police, the five arrested men work in the electronics department of the Naval Dockyard. One of the men passed derogatory remarks against the woman which led to scuffle between them and her husband, inside the pub. Thereafter, the bouncers mediated and pushed the 5 men out of pub. However, they didn’t return to their place and kept waiting for the couple. After the couple came out and boarded an autorickshaw, they too followed them in 2 separate autorickshaws. It was then the woman contacted Khar police and registered her complaint. The police advised them to come under the Borivli flyover, where the police intercepted the two autos and caught the five men. A medical test confirmed all the accused were drunk during the time of incident.
