New Delhi: Hours after journalist Amrita Rai and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh confirmed their relationship, former’s estranged husband Anand Pradhan wished her a good life ahead.
In a Facebook update by Anand Pradhan, who is a professor at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), appealed to friends and well-wishers to respect his privacy, wishing Rai a good life ahead.
He said, “Amrita is free to take any decision regarding her life after separating from me and I respect that. I wish her all the best for her life and future.” He wrote that he is going through a difficult phase and that both of them have been living apart from some time now.
He wrote, “I am going through difficult and testing times. Amrita and I have lived separate lives for a long time. We have applied for divorce with mutual consent. It is a legal procedure which takes its own time. But the relationship we once had ended long ago."
Digvijaya Singh, on Wednesday, accepted his relationship with TV anchor Amrita Rai. He took on to microblogging site Twitter to accept his relationship. Rai also confirmed separation from her husband, saying that she will later marry Digvijaya Singh.

Rai and Pradhan do not have any children from their marriage.
Sources said Rai and Singh's romance bloomed when she interviewed him on the Rajya Sabha TV ahead of the Jaipur AICC Session in January 2013.
In June last year Singh had issued a clarification after a picture of his with Rai at a Pandharpur temple got leaked. He had then asserted that since he was a widower he was free to re-marry.
