Huge fire breaks out at cracker factory in Ujjain; 15 killed, 4 seriously injured

Ujjain/Bhopal: Major fire broke out at a cracker factor in Badnagar town in Ujjain district in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday which killed 15 persons, including three children. The cracker factory, located near Khob Darwaza area in the city caught fire around 4.45 PM, in which eight women, four men and three children were killed, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Pankaj Shrivastava told PTI. The owner of the factory Yusuf Hussain was immediately arrested by the police. Fire-tenders were rushed to the site, which managed to control the blaze after over an hour. The cause of the fire is not known yet and police has begun to investigate the matter. Four people were reported to be seriously injured and were rushed to the Ujjain district hospital immediately. It has become hard to identify the people who lost their lives as the bodies are not left in recognizable condition.
