Pak provokes again: 'Kashmir our ‘jugular vein’, will respond to aggression in befitting manner'

New Delhi: What can be clearly termed as another provocative attempt targeted at India, Pakistan’s Army Chief has described contentious region of Kashmir as the ‘jugular vein’ of the country. Not stopping at that Army officer said “Pakistan Army is in favour of peace, but is always ready to respond to any aggression in befitting manner." Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif made these controversial remarks while addressing a ceremony hosted to mark the 'Youm-e-Shuhada' (Martyrs' Day) at GHQ Rawalpindi, on Wednesday. Going by media reports, Sharif also claimed that “Kashmir was an internationally recognised dispute andmatchless sacrifices offered by Kashmiris will not go in vain.” He added that the resolution of the Kashmir issue is indispensable for lasting peace in the region. Such kind of highly provocative remarks were unleashed in open by Pakistan’s Army Chief just a day after country’s interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan claiemd Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP’s) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's statement about attacking Islamabad in order to bring back escapee underworld don Dawood Ibrahim as 'irresponsible and shameful'. Later BJP had responded saying Pakistan shouldn’t interfere in internal matters of India.
