PM arrives in Karachi to review operation

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on Wednesday to review the ongoing operation in the city against terrorists and criminals and also chaired a high-level meeting in this regard at the Governor House, DawnNews reported. During the meeting, premier Sharif received a briefing over the progress of the Karachi operation being carried out. The meeting was also attended by members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), former president Asif Ali Zardari, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief Lt Gen Zaheer ul Islam. Prior to the meeting, Sharif also held separate meetings with Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif. Earlier on his arrival at the Karachi's Jinnah International Airport, prime minister Sharif was received by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and a large number of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) supporters and local office bearers.
