ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of the murder of 25-year-old pregnant woman Farzana Parveen who was stoned to death near the Lahore High Court on Tuesday morning by members of her family allegedly for marrying a man of her choice, DawnNews reported. The premier on Thursday directed Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to submit a report on the incident by the evening. The prime minister has said that those involved in the murder which took place in broad daylight in Punjab’s provincial capital of Lahore should be brought to book. Moreover, on Wednesday, police teams raided a number of residences and other places to arrest those suspected of involvement in the brutal killing. Farzana was attacked with bricks when the attackers intercepted on her way to the LHC. Police booked her father Azeem, brothers Zahid and Ghulam Ali, cousins and some other relatives. The brutal act took place on Fane Road, one of the busiest roads in Lahore, when Farzana, of Nankana Sahib, her husband Mohammad Iqbal and in-laws, left the office of her counsel for going to the court. Her father and brothers had got an abduction case registered against her husband and she had filed a petition in the LHC to get the case quashed.
