Google announces 3D tablet development kit, want one?

Google has announced the developers kit for its project Tango experiment to take it further. The project kit is a 7-inch tablet device powered by the new Nvidia Tegra K1 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, 128GB of storage and more. The processor is a Nvidia 4-Plus-1 quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 chip that powers some of the world’s “supercomputers and PC gaming systems”, according to the chip maker. The kit have been designed for professional developers who are interested in exploring the future of mobile 3D sensing. Google has said about the kit. This reveals that the tablet carries a camera that can make sense of depth of field and apply 3D effects. The kit that has been released carries a motion tracking camera, integrated depth sensing, WiFi, BTLE, and 4G LTE (availability will depend on region and carrier). Limited number of tablets are available with Google, meant for developers only. These will go on sale later this year for $1024.
