Rhea Pillai files accuses former live-in partner Leander Paes of domestic violence, seeks protection

Mumbai: Model Rhea Pillai has filed a case of domestic violence and demanded Rs four lakh as monthly protection against dispossession from her matrimonial home in Mumbai's Bandra area by her estranged live-in partner and ace tennis player Leander Paes and his father in a local metropolitan magistrate court. Some reports say that Pillai has demanded Rs three lakh for herself and Rs 90,000 for her kid who is admitted to one of the most expensive schools in Mumbai. She has reportedly said that Paes has failed to support her financially in the last two years. "Pillai has filed a case of domestic violence against Paes, his father Vece Paes and has sought monthly maintenance of about Rs four lakh," Paes' advocate Pervez Memon was quoted as saying. The case, filed on Saturday, is likely to come up for hearing on June 30. The couple has already been fighting for the custody of their eight-year-old daughter. Pillai, in her complaint, has accused Paes' father of preventing her and her daughter from entering their Carter Road residence. She has also sought blocking of any transfer of property to any 'third party.' Paes had last month filed 'a guardianship petition' in the family court here seeking permanent custody of his daughter from Pillai.
