BJP leader stirs controversy, promises brides from Bihar for bachelor Haryana boys

New Delhi: The BJP leaders are getting more offensive with their remarks after coming into power. The political row stirred by Mumbai BJP leader Ashish Shelar for saying that Rs. 5 is sufficient to have food didn’t cool down and now a latest remark from another leader is set to kick-off controversy. A close aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and national president of BJP farmers’ front Om Prakash Dhankar said on Friday that if his party wins elections in Haryana, the bachelors will get girls from Bihar to marry. He further added that Sushil Modi in Bihar is his friend; therefore all the marriages will be organized well. No one will remain a bachelor in Haryana. Notably, the sex ratio in state is the lowest in country. Men in large number don’t get girls to marry and they are forced to remain unmarried. According to the latest census that held in 2011, there are only 879 women in Haryana against 1000 men. Dhankar is the same man who was given the responsibility of Modi’s dream project ‘statue of unity’. The statement made by him is widely being condemned by several political leaders and organizations. The eastern organizations claim that he has hurt the sentiments of millions of people. They have demanded him to apologise in the matter.
