Six passengers killed after bus overturns in Balochistan‏

QUETTA: At least six people were killed and more than two dozen injured when a passenger bus overturned in Balochistan's Noshki district on Sunday, levies said. Muhammad Anjum, a levies official told Dawn.com via telephone that the passenger bus was traveling from Noshki to Kharan when it overturned. He said women and children were also among the injured. "The bus overturned as result of over speeding," Anjum said, adding that the driver lost control of the bus. Initially, two passengers were dead on the spot whereas four others succumbed to injuries on their way to the hospital. Anjum said more than two dozen passengers were shifted to district headquarter hospital Noshki for medical treatment. "The condition of three of the injured is still serious," Anjum stated. Levies personnel reached the spot where the deadly incident took place and took the bus into their custody. In absence of traffic rules and non availability of proper mechanism, traffic incidents are rampant in Balochistan. Traffic accidents have claimed scores of lives in Balochistan.
