Addicted to Twitter? An overdose may drive you psychotic!

If you spend several hours a day, reading and posting Tweets, you could be a pliable candidate for Twitter Psychosis. According to a paper published in the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, a 31-year-old heavy Twitter user was admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Germany because of intensive suicidal thoughts. For several hours a day the woman would keep reading and posting tweets. According to the paper, she initially started believing that a famous actor was responding to her tweets through symbols in his messages or through retweets by others. At present, believe experts, Twitter psychosis is extremely rare at best, and no other such case has ever been reported in the media or in medical journals. But, this case definitely allows medical experts an opportunity to give their feedback if they have experienced similar cases. According to reports, the woman later recovered and lost interest in Twitter.
