CM has ordered IG to fire on Chaudhrys: Pervaiz

LAHORE: The PML-Q alleges that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has written a letter to the IGP directing him to open fire on Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, Pervaiz Elahi, Wajahat Husain and other opponent politicians during the protest march in Gujrat. “On the instruction of Shahbaz, a special meeting of the N-League was held at the Nayyer Industries, Gujrat, which was also attended by Chaudhry Mubashar Husain, DCO Liaquat Chatha and DPO Rai Ejaz Ahmad. “MNA Abid Raza and Raza Matta were also present, who were involved in armed attacks on our Zahoor Elahi House residence. “Abid Raza had harboured the terrorists who had attacked army jawans in Gujrat and killed a professor of the Gujrat University but he had escaped because of backing of Shahbaz,” PML-Q senior leader Pervaiz Elahi told a news conference here on Monday. He said the letter had also been sent to the interior, chief and home secretaries. “If his plan is carried out, Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, IG police, RPO Gujranwala, DPO and DCO Gujrat will be responsible.” Mr Elahi said: “We are opposed to martial law but martial law and earthquake never come with the permission of anyone.” Published in Dawn, Aug 12th, 2014
