Meerut: Teacher gang raped and compelled to change religion, 3 arrested

Meerut: Tension gripped in the area after the reports of a young madarsa teacher raped and forced to change her religion surfaced in western Uttar Pradesh. The conversion news gripped tension and hundreds of people gathered outside the police station demanding stern action against the culprits. The police later arrested three people, including village head. The Teacher alleged that the village Pradhan and his aides abducted her on July 30 and took her to the madarsa in Hapur district. She was compelled to convert her religion. They took her to Muzaffarnagar where she was kept in confinement for three days. The woman`s family had lodged a complaint at Kharkhauda police station after she went missing on July 30. According to Kharkhauda police, the village Pradhan, Sannaullah, Sannaullah`s wife and daughter plotted for the teacher`s abduction. Sannaullah`s daughter after abduction brought the teacher to madarsa where she was gang raped and was compelled to change her religion. In this regard, the culprits are booked under Section 363/366/376 D / A 295/420/467/468/471/323/504/506/34. According to ASP Onkar Singh, along with Sannaullah and the village pradhan, Sannaullah`s daughter and another a woman were arrested.
