Teacher brutally thrashes class 8 student, puts gun to his head

Ludhiana (Punjab): In a shocking incident, a teacher in a private school here brutally thrashed a class 8 student and allegedly put a gun on his head on Friday. The teacher (Bhupinder Singh) of Krishna Convent School did not stop here. He went a step ahead and allegedly threatened the parents of the boy (Gautam Rajput) over phone. According to Mail Today, Gautam's father Satpal Rajput told the police that he and his wife handed over a cell phone their son as they were going out of the town. Gautam took the mobile phone to his school, where it was stolen by one of his classmates. Later, he returned the cell phone to Gautam and the issue was amicably settled out of the school by the parents. Singh got extremely angry when he came to know about the incident. He mercilessly beat up Gautam and allegedly threatened him by putting a gun on his head. He even called Rajputs and asked them to come to school and offer apologies for settling the matter themselves outside the school. Satpal reportedly lodged a complaint with the school authorities and sought action against the teacher. However, the authorities did not pay heed to his complaints. He approached the police and registered a case at Daba police station. "How the teacher was allowed to enter the school campus with a gun is being looked into. Action will be taken against the school management and the principal for the violence and presence of weapon in the classroom," the report quotes District Education Officer (Secondary) Paramjit Kaur as saying. The accused teacher is at large.
