UN official BREAKS DOWN on LIVE TV after children were killed in shelling of school in Gaza

New Delhi: United Nations officials described the killing of sleeping children as a disgrace to the world. As Al Jazeera Arabic interviewed UN official Chris Gunness, he could not contain his grief while on camera after witnessing shelling of a United Nations-run school. At least 17 people were killed in the shelling. Gunness, the spokesperson for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) told Al Jazeera, "The rights of Palestinians, and even their children, are wholesale denied... and its appalling." Gaza's Ministry of Health said at least 17 people were killed and 90 wounded by the school shelling. The shelling was the sixth time a UN-run school has been hit by munitions from either side of the conflict in recent weeks. Around 1,118 Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing conflict as of July 29, including 827 civilians, of whom 243 were children and 131 were women.
