Senate session likely on Oct 28

ISLAMABAD: Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq on Saturday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would most likely to attend the upcoming Senate session, expected to commence on October 28. It may be noted that Premier Nawaz has not been able to attend single sitting of the Upper House of Parliament since he took oath of the coveted office in the first week of June and this has been raised on the floor of the House several times by the opposition legislators. Talking to this correspondent, Awami National Party (ANP) Senator Muhammad Zahid Khan questioned the persistent staying away of Nawaz from the Senate, being the symbol of federation, having equal representation of the four provinces. He wondered what message prime minister was sending across the country, particularly to the smaller provinces, which already had been facing the brunt of terrorism. “The new session is going to be a longer one and prime minister will most likely come to the Senate,” said Raja Zafar while talking to The News here.
