From aliens to invisibility cloak - Conspiracy theories explaining 'disappearance' of MH370

New Delhi: Since the day Malaysian Airlines flight MH 370, with 239 people on board crashed, many theories, some ‘deeply reasoning’ others ‘weird’ in nature are making rounds in the media circles across all parts of the world. Despite this, concerned authorities still remain irresolute, where to look out for the debris of the plane that must have ‘crashed’ most probably. For many days having been passed without any clues up for taking, Malaysian authorities are receiving brickbats for going too slow and directionless in locating the remains of the plane and bring forth the truth in front of the people, especially from the Chinese corners. A Chinese journalist told Daily Bhaskar “The Malaysian authorities have received some flak in the way they have handled the whole search and rescue ops from the Chinese Media in particular. There have been several editorials that have come down hard on the airlines and the govt. But the Govt is doing its best to co-operate with the Malaysian authorities to first search and find the missing plane.” And that reflected in the Chinese Premier's Li Keqiang's annual presser earlier today where he said that they'll not give up 'as long as there is a glimmer of hope' Considering this, here were are suggesting or reiterating conspiracy theories which may help in finding the truth. 1. Insurance theory Malaysian officials are finding out financial history of the passengers on board including insurance policies purchased by all 239 of them, which includes 227 passengers and 12 crew members. Interestingly, as per a report published in International Business Times Malaysian police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said "For example, one of the passengers might have purchased a hefty insurance policy prior to flying on MH370. Perhaps the passenger is hoping that his family will benefit from his death." There lies an outside chance that one of the passengers aboard wanted to commit suicide in order to benefit his family members and therefore, hijacked the plane and caused the crash.
2. Chinese Martyrs’ Brigade theory As per a report published in The Nation, a news agency based in Bangkok, Chinese Martyrs’ Brigade hailing from northwestern part of country are said to have claimed responsibility for the crash. Malaysian officials are however, not buying their claims, but considering the recent attacks by separatist in China’s uneasy Uyghur Autonomous Region in the northwestern province of Xinjiang, there always lays a possibility.
3. Alien theory This is something that may interest all, and also holds a solid ground considering no news about bad weather has been reported as the main cause for a possible crash. Some scientists (working on existence of alien theory) claim that aliens may have a hand behind the whole incident, as it is difficult to assume a plane going off radar, just after an hour of it taking off. Idea for another Hollywood movie script!
4. Invisibility cover theory A report published in Before It’s News says that there is a possibility about passengers on board carrying electronic warfare weaponry that made plane to disappear from radar detection. The report further states that after 20 employees from Austin-based high-tech eco-friendly company Freescale Semiconductor confirmed to be on board. So the theory holds real ground.
5. Technical-fault theory A November 2013 FAA Airworthiness Directive (AD) for the Boeing 777 airplane could help in solving the MH370 disappearance puzzle. It helps in detecting cracking and corrosion in the fuselage skin, which can be one of the reasons for quick decompression (change in pressure due to development of hole) leading to a breakdown of structure of the plane in the mid-air. However, going by AD is not justified in the case of Malaysian flight, as antenna covered by the impending AD was not reported to be installed on MH 370. But, it helps in developing a rationale on similar lines, in order to explain plausible causes of the crash. The theory based on technicalities involved includes some inputs from the write up named MH370 – what happened. What can be inferred is that the Malaysian plane must be traveling in mid-air on autopilot mode. It is possible that somewhere in between it lost communication with its base set up on ground, and also contact with the radar. Thereafter, a rupture could have occurred in the fuselage skin leading to creation of decompression causing material harm to the radar or satellite. As time passed, the hole must have grown in size, leading to discrepancy in pressure within the plane. Also, in absence of adequate level of oxygen present, passengers and pilots would have fainted – as oxygen masks failed to come down as programmed due to development of hitch in the technical system on plane, to counter the effect of decompression. GPS, ACARS, ADS-B, and ADS-C antennas and systems must have collapsed by the time. The plane still kept moving on the autopilot mode. Experts are saying that radars (barring primary radars) fail to detect planes when they have reached very high altitudes and Malaysian flight may be flying at similar levels too. There are reports that the plane travelled for about 4 hours before losing contact with radar. Hence, the theory - the plane ran for hours (on autopilot mode) while passengers and pilots were unconscious, after radar stopped detecting the plane is a possibility, very much holds ground. Regarding the news that phones of passengers rang 19 times (without response) can only mean the plane was moving on autopilot while passengers were in comatose. And now, if the same numbers are dialed, the phones fail to respond, for the reason, the plane crashed soon afterwards or the phone batteries must have gone flat.
