High-voltage drama in Jaipur, girl jumps off an over bridge to commit suicide

Jaipur: A theatrical scene played out on an over bridge located close to Chowki Dhani in Jaipur, on Thursday. A young girl climbed on the fence of an over bridge and threatened to commit suicide. The people who witnessed the dramatic scene informed the local police. On reaching the site, the police and the witnesses tried hard to convince the girl to climb down to safety, they requested her to refrain from taking any irrational step. The girl refused to take note of the police’s appeal and instead told them to make no attempts to forcibly get her to climb off, if they did so, she would leap off the bridge. After the high voltage drama and pacifying the girl jumped off the bridge. Fortunately the people gathered around the over bridge had anticipated the move; they caught the girl when she jumped off. The girl received minor injuries on her foot, after which she was admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jaipur. Police has initiated a probe into the matter. Reports say the reason behind the girl’s attempt to commit suicide, was the existing differences between her and her family, an affair with a man too is suspected.
