New Delhi: Due to an extremely brave endeavor by a salesgirl working at a jewellery shop in Mahipalpur area of south Delhi, major robbery was averted on Friday afternoon.
The girl tricked the arm robbers and prevented the shop from getting looted, though they managed to flee from the spot ultimately, as per a report in Mail Today.
As per police, five men who were armed with pistols entered the shop and threatened the workers to hand over the cash to them.
However, then they changed their mind and took showroom owner hostage at gun point and asked the employees to give them jewellery instead.
After collecting all the jewellery, they asked for the silver plates as well. However, Shilpi, the brave girl, tricked the robbers by saying the police may reach the spot any time as she has already called them over phone.
This created panic among them and they ran away, but only after injuring the shop owner with a sharp object. After they fled the spot, employees called the police. The whole has been recorded on the CCTV cameras.
The efforts to nab the culprits are on at present. The police are also planning to reward the girl for her heroic effort.
