US Secretary of State John Kerry calls Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, talks about re-energizing ties

New Delhi: US Secretary of State John Kerry called Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs and discussed about re-energizing ties between two countries. These are the first official talks between the India and the US post BJP-led NDA government taking charge and seen as an effort by the US to cozy up relationship with the newly formed BJP government at centre. Reportedly, there were talks about increasing the bilateral trade to USD 500 billion. Earlier the US President Barack Obama congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a phone call after the BJP-led NDA amassed a landslide victory in the just concluded Lok Sabha polls.
