34-year-old woman raped in posh Connaught place area

New Delhi: A 34 year old woman was allegedly raped by security guard in highly crowded area of Connaught place on June 28 in national capital Delhi. It is known that the incident took place in Jeevan Bharti building’s tower 2 on 13th floor. The accused Roshan Singh has been arrested by police. According to the police, the victim is mother of seven children and she was brought to building by Singh as he promised her a job. He took her to the 13th floor saying that she has to give interview there. He raped the victim after taking her to a deserted room on the same floor. He used his mobile phone to make a call to his friend and asked him to come as soon as possible. She somehow managed to snatch his phone and locked herself in bathroom. She called police from inside. Even though several instances of violence against women come in light in Delhi, no consolidate actions have been taken so far to ensure that women are safe in Delhi.
